Ithas a curious phosphorous odor and is distinctly irritant to the respiratorymembranes; it is almost always accompanied by nitrogen oxides, and thesemay further aggravate this local irritation. It is found in most organs in cases ofpoisoning, particularly in the liver and kidney.
